Colorado State University, Center for Advanced Laser and Extreme Photonics Building

The Center for Advanced Laser and Extreme Photonics Building is a 77,000 SF two story building on the foothills campus of Colorado State University. The primary function of the building is to provide research for the development of advanced, ultra-high intensity solid-state lasers; fusion energy studies, application of intense x-ray and particle beams for medicine and material science; advanced optical coatings; and the development of soft x-ray lasers and their applications to nanoscale metrology. This building, when complete, will serve not only the educational, outreach, service, and research mission of the university, but also could be a catalyst for economic development in Northern Colorado. The combination of exciting experiments at the forefront of lasers, laser materials, and laser/materials interaction research, state-of-the-art facilities, and participation in leading research center efforts offers unique opportunities for the professional development of students at all levels, research scientists and engineers. The building will also house offices, classrooms, collaboration spaces, conference room spaces and a viewing gallery with observation of the Laser Bay.
